SDSU Women's Golf Plays Host To Annual Aztec Fall Classic Beginning Monday

SDSU Splits Squad For Aztec Fall Classic, New Mexico State Tourney The Aztec Fall Classic will be held at the par-72, 6,216-yard Salt Creek Golf Club in Chula Vista, Oct. 13-14. SDSU is among a field of seven total teams, who will play a round of golf each of the two days. This is the first time since the 2000-01 campaign that SDSU has played host to more than one home tournament in a season, as the 2009 Aztec Invitational is set for Feb. 16-17, also at Salt Creek. The SDSU `A' squad, ranked 77th-nationally by golfstat.com, heads to New Mexico State for the 18-team Price's "Give `Em Five" Invitational, Oct. 13-15. The Aztecs will play 54 holes with a round each day at the par-72, 6,319-yard NMS University Golf Course. SDSU will face tough competition in the field from No. 36 UC Irvine, No. 47 Baylor, No. 48 Colorado State, No. 53 UC Davis, No. 54 Missouri and No. 60 Oklahoma. The Aztec Fall Classic starts at 8 a.m. PT with tee times from the first hole, while the Price's "Give `Em Five" Invite features a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT the first two days and at 7:45 a.m. MT on Wednesday.
Twelve Golfers Set To Compete For SDSU The `A' team headed to Las Cruces consists of freshman Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), sophomores Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) and Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.), junior Heather Wilson (Chula Vista, Calif.) and senior Maki Kamimura (West Covina, Calif.). Four of the five played at the CU Heather Farr Memorial Invite two weeks ago, while Wilson is appearing in her first tournament since Fall 2006.
Seven Aztecs will tee-off at the Aztec Fall Classic, including senior Jackie Kazarian (Dana Point, Calif.), junior Petra Cole (San Diego, Calif.), sophomores Faith De Guzman (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) and Kaitlen
Miyajima (Wailuku, Maui) and freshman Casey McIntosh (Rancho Mirage, Calif.). Redshirt freshman Erin Coons (Wilbraham, Mass.), playing her first career event, and junior Ashley Wood (Lake Tahoe, Calif.) will complete separately as individuals.
